Administration Authorisation 2024

Elevated roles in Learning and Teaching Systems applications:


Canvas Faculty Administrators and Grade Faculty Administrators:

  • Can add or remove users from subjects with an assigned role (including themselves)
  • Can view quizzes and assignments
  • Can view students System ID under subject people list
  • Can view list of subjects within the relevant faculty
  • Can view subjects section


In addition, Grade Faculty Administrators users:

  • Can submit and lock Grades transfer for a Canvas subject via CAT or GradesPlus
  • Can view and edit grades
  • Can view grades change logs
  • Can view quiz submission logs
  • Can view grades audit trail
  • Can manage AVRs via GradesPlus
  • Can log into Salesforce to reassign RAOs for AVRs when required


Please note both Canvas Faculty admin role and Grade Faculty admin role have permission to enrol themselves as subject coordinator or Teacher in Canvas subject sites


Subject coordinators and Instructors/Teachers in Canvas can:

  • Configure the availability of the Canvas subjects for students
  • View and manipulate student grade data in Canvas
  • View sensitive student activity
  • Modify and create assessments such as online quizzes and assignments
  • Create. download, upload, edit and delete learning materials and other reports including grade reports
  • Communicate with all students and staff enrolled in the Canvas subjects
  • Receive all communications within the subject that are directed to Instructors
  • Be recognised as an Instructor from a student viewpoint
  • Be listed as an Instructor in the Subject
  • View subject reports
  • Delete the whole subject in Canvas
  • Submit and lock Grades transfer for a Canvas subject
  • Can view grades change logs
  • Cav view quiz submission logs
  • Can view grades audit trail


REVIEW faculty admin users

  • Act on the behalf of a Subject Coordinator or Instructor in REVIEW without further authorisation
  • Please note that a Faculty Administrator can perform the following in that REVIEW subject site:
  • Enrol and remove staff as well as students
  • View subject reports
  • View, mark and change student results
  • Edit subject settings including its availability
  • Send/share learning materials of your subject to other users
